The Welshman never faced problems at Real Madrid’s dressing room, Luka Modric defended his former teammate Gareth Bale and called for fans to note what he achieved at Santiago Bernabeu.
Bale returned to the former Tottenham Club last month after seven seasons with Real Madrid on a season-long loan that his agent said could be extended for longer.
Bale, a player for whom he was also playing at Tottenham, has been defended by Modric who said he fitted very well with his team mates.
“Most of my career was in Gareth and he is a spectacular man,” Modric told COPE. “I have been with him. “He’s timid, just like me.
“We judge him these last years, but what he did in Madrid is amazing and he is always to be remembered as a player who has done a lot for his club.” We are not honest.
“I have never been in the dressing room, he’s a fine fellow. He’s been speaking Spanish, he laughed with us.
“Many things have come out in recent years and they forget what they did. They will remember him as time passes and how influential he was.
He had not been very involved, but he was very good in the clothing room. I find it sad that all he’s done in this past year have been forgotten.” “Everybody has his own conduct.
During his time in Madrid, Bale enjoyed plenty of success, winning four Champions League championships, two La Liga crowns and one Copa del Rey.
